After completing the manuscript for my memoir I returned to a form I'd loved for decades — short stories and creative nonfiction in the 'flash' format. Here's the place I share announcements about the placement of my short stories.
Indiana Review
This story depicts the finale of my addiction and entry into rehab. I wrote the first version during the late Tom Spanbauer's Dangerous Writing workshop -- a venue that spawned Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, clearly an inspiration. Very appropriate for Indiana Review, which has been offering "carefully strange" literature since 1976.
Screen Door Review
Screen Door Review publishes literary fiction and creative nonfiction that opens a window onto the human experience. "1,825 Days" is forthcoming in their October 2026 issue.
BULL
My creative non-fiction story brings the reader into 24 hours in the life of some horny young encyclopedia salesmen in the South in the 1960s. Forthcoming in December 2026 in BULL, known for publishing bold and irreverent writing.
BULL (Online)
BULL will publish this pair of creative non-fiction stories about two different men with whom the narrator pursues distinct and quite transgressive erotic adventures. BULL is home to writers who don't fit neatly anywhere else. Both stories are forthcoming late 2026 / early 2027.
